Overview
PathLine is a mobile puzzle game in which you draw a continuous line through nodes to solve levels. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you play PathLine, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
Information We Collect
PathLine collects the following data to provide core game features:
- Google Play Games player ID — a pseudonymous identifier assigned by Google Play Games Services. Used to link your game progress and leaderboard scores to your account across devices.
- Display name — the name associated with your Google Play Games profile, displayed on leaderboards.
- Device identifier — an anonymous identifier used as a fallback key for cloud saves when Google Play Games is unavailable or not signed in.
- Game progress data — completed levels, unlocked content, and scores. Stored on our server linked to your player ID or device identifier to enable cross-device sync.
- Leaderboard scores — your best scores per level or category, stored on our server and submitted to Google Play Games global leaderboards.
PathLine also uses the following third-party services that collect data independently:
- Appodeal — ad mediation platform that serves advertisements through multiple ad networks. Appodeal and its partners may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, and usage data to deliver and personalise ads. See Appodeal's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Games Services — provides sign-in, leaderboards, and cloud saves. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Billing — processes in-app purchases. Purchase information is handled entirely by Google Play. See Google Play's Privacy Policy.
How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Cloud progress saving — synchronising your completed levels and unlocked content across devices so you never lose progress.
- Leaderboards — displaying your scores alongside other players on global and friends leaderboards powered by Google Play Games.
- Game integrity — detecting and preventing cheating or manipulation of leaderboard scores.
- Advertising — displaying ads through Appodeal mediation to support the free availability of the game.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Advertising
PathLine is free to play and supported by advertisements served through Appodeal, an ad mediation platform. Appodeal works with multiple advertising networks to show you ads. These networks may collect and use:
- Advertising ID — a resettable device identifier used to serve and measure ads.
- IP address — used to determine approximate location for ad targeting.
- Usage data — information about how you interact with ads.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, Switzerland, or California (USA), Appodeal's Consent Manager will ask for your consent before collecting data for personalised advertising. You may decline consent — in that case, non-personalised ads will still be shown.
You can also opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or opt out of Ads Personalisation
- iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
Opting out does not remove ads — it limits personalisation. You may still see contextual ads. For a full list of Appodeal's advertising partners and their privacy policies, visit appodeal.com/privacy-policy.
GDPR and CCPA
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
When you first launch PathLine, Appodeal's Consent Manager will present a consent dialog explaining what data is collected and for what purpose. You may grant or decline consent at any time. If you decline, Appodeal will notify all its ad demand partners so they will not collect personalised data from you.
To exercise your GDPR or CCPA rights (access, deletion, portability, opt-out of sale), contact us at dvox33@gmail.com.
Google Play Games Sign-In
PathLine uses Google Play Games Services for optional sign-in. Signing in enables:
- Cloud save — your progress is backed up and restored automatically on any Android device signed into the same Google account.
- Leaderboards — your scores appear on global rankings.
- Achievements — in-game milestones are tracked and displayed in the Play Games app.
Sign-in is optional. If you choose not to sign in, progress is saved locally on your device only, and leaderboard features are unavailable. You can sign out at any time through the in-game settings menu.
In-App Purchases
PathLine may offer optional in-app purchases processed through Google Play Billing. We do not receive, store, or process your payment card information. All financial transactions are handled securely by Google Play.
Data Retention
Local progress data is removed when you uninstall the application. Server-side data (progress, scores) linked to your player ID or device identifier is retained for as long as you have the game installed or your account is active.
You may request deletion of your server-side data at any time by contacting us at dvox33@gmail.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Data retained by Appodeal, Google Play Games, and Google Play Billing is subject to their respective retention policies.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion — request deletion of your progress and score data from our servers.
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-out of personalised ads — decline or withdraw consent via the in-app consent dialog or your device settings.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dvox33@gmail.com.
Security
Game progress and scores transmitted to our servers are sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. Server-side data is stored with access controls that restrict it to authorised systems only. Device identifiers and player IDs are stored as opaque keys and are not linked to any real-world identity on our side.
Children's Privacy
PathLine does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Google Play Games sign-in requires a Google account, which itself has age requirements enforced by Google.
If you believe a child has provided personal data through PathLine or any integrated service, please contact us at dvox33@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of PathLine after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
